Things I’m Looking Forward to Doing
COVID Has Kept Me from Doing So Many Things
Ever since COVID began, my life hasn’t been the same. At first, I hoped that it would only be a few weeks of anxiety, but it has stretched on for over two years! I, like everyone else, had no idea that it would last this long.
The greatest drawback of such a long pandemic is that I haven’t been able to do most of the things I’ve wanted and haven’t been able to spend time with the people I love. The best moments are spent with others, and meaningful communication relies on in-person interaction.
Simply put, COVID has limited me in my career, my personal life, and my hobbies, and the same goes for millions of others. That’s why I’m ready for it to be gone for good! Here are just a few things I’m looking forward to when we are all finally free.
Enjoying the Company of Family Again
I am looking forward to being with family again, especially during the holidays. We used to convene at my mother’s house, enjoy each other’s company, and eat lots of delicious food!
The worst part about COVID is that you never know what the next day will bring. I have older parents, so we always have to be wary around them, and we hardly get as much time together as we used to.
When this virus goes away, I am going to spend as much time as possible with my parents. After all, if tomorrow is uncertain, why waste time being away from the people you care about?
Finally, Being Able to Talk Without a Mask
I’m sick of wearing masks and being unable to read other people’s facial expressions. Of course, masking up is important, but it’s difficult to gauge a person’s intent when most of their face is covered. After a while, everyone begins to seem robotic; people have been less sociable lately because they can no longer read subtle cues.
I’m looking forward to taking off the masks and having genuine face-to-face conversations with my friends and family. I can’t wait to meet new people, as well!
Going to the Gym More Often
When COVID first arrived, the gym was the most dangerous place to be. That’s why so many fitness centers closed down. Today, gyms have been taking more precautions and are safer to exercise in, though people are still afraid to go, including me.
I’m looking forward to renewing my membership so that I can live a healthier lifestyle and meet new people who share my passion for fitness. Everyone knows that working out is easier when you’re surrounded by people—I’ve been exercising exclusively at home, and it has been difficult to stay motivated. It’ll be such a treat to get back into the swing of things!
Emerging Like a Butterfly
COVID has taken a toll on my face. I’ve developed all kinds of lines and folds and looking in the mirror has become more disheartening than ever. That’s why I’ve thought seriously about getting a deep plane facelift. This procedure is ideal for addressing stubborn wrinkles and sagging skin on the face and around the neck. With a quick nip-and-tuck, be able to transform into a vibrant, stunning butterfly! A new face will also tie in perfectly with a fit body. I can’t wait to shave years off my face—it will give me some much-needed confidence after this debilitating pandemic!
Having More Friends Over
Like a lot of people, I’ve lost touch with my closest friends. Of course, this isn’t anyone’s fault—we all want to stay safe! Still, I miss spontaneous outings, like getting beers at the bar and watching sports at my best pals’ houses.
I can’t wait to enjoy the little things once this pandemic is over. Going to the movie theater, for example, will be as fun as ever, as will sitting down at our favorite restaurants and eating until our stomachs hurt! Who would have thought that life’s simplest pleasures could be so thrilling?
