‘Westworld’ Season 4 Premiere: Reunion Of Evan Rachel Wood and James Marsden
‘Westworld’ Season 4 Premiere: Reunion Of Evan Rachel Wood and James Marsden: A lot of unexpected things happen in the television series Westworld.
We’ve seen personalities rise from the grave repeatedly because practically all of the primary characters were hosts in the theme park at one point, and because replicas of real people constantly being made.
Westworld Season 4 Premiere Recap
HBO’s Westworld Season 4 won’t be any different. Despite the fact that their characters are no longer alive, James Marsden and Evan Rachel Wood both rejoin the cast of Westworld. Yet how?
We meet a new character played by Evan Rachel Wood in season four of Westworld.
We also get up with human freedom warrior Caleb (Aaron Paul) and get to see our favorite badass Maeve once more (Thandiwe Newton).
The biggest mystery is who Evan Rachel Wood is playing since that her old host character Dolores Abernathy is no longer alive, even though it is obvious that the Man in Black (Ed Harris) has a sinister new scheme.
A few terrifying days in the life of this new character are followed in the Westworld Season 4 opener, which culminates in the revelation that this new heroine has a recognizable hero watching out for her.
James Marsden makes a swoon-worthy entrance in Westworld Season 4 Episode 1 backed by an instrumental Lana Del Rey cover.
What do we currently know about Evan Rachel Wood’s new Westworld Season 4 character? James Marsden is reintroduced to Westworld in what way? And was “Video Games” the name of that song?
Evan Rachel Wood: Who Is She? Playing in Season 4 of Westworld?
Dead is Dolores. Christina, long live!
You may recall that at the conclusion of Westworld Season 3, Dolores Abernathy’s consciousness was completely erased in addition to being slain.
Evan Rachel Wood is back as “Christina,” although since this is Westworld and host bodies can be duplicated.
Christina, a sweet and reserved writer for Olympiad Entertainment, is a professional.
She specifically crafts NPC narratives for Olympiad’s video games.
Christina’s supervisor wants her to veer into the darker side of life, even though she prefers to write cozy stories about young women with loving fathers and happy endings.
But things are not perfect in Christina’s world. A stalker haunts her and accuses her of destroying his life.
The acts of this individual are similar to those of an NPC that Christina made for her work.
He strikes Christina, almost kills her, but a mysterious man intervenes to save her. Later, Peter, the accused stalker, leaps from a roof.
There are numerous references to Christina’s world in Westworld Easter eggs. (Heh, almost like she was called after that Dolores Abernathy-inspired Andrew Wyeth painting.)
The option between white and black shoes that Westworld visitors make to wear a white hat or a black hat in the park is mirrored in Christina’s roommate, played by Tony award and Oscar winner Ariana DeBose, early in the episode.
In the middle of the program, someone also overturns a plant on her balcony, displaying the show’s recognizable maze design.
Of course, it turns out that James Marsden is playing Christina’s noble defender…
James Marsden’s Return to Westworld: What Happened?
James Marsden hasn’t been on Westworld since the end of Season 2 when his character Teddy committed suicide.
The Teddy stuck beneath Dolores’ alterations was horrified by what they had turned into.
She had reprogrammed her pet to become a vicious attack dog for her murderous purpose. So how was he brought back by Westworld?
That’s still very much up in the air, just like Christina’s origin story. But whoever Marsden is portraying is as committed to Christina as Teddy once was to Dolores, and that much is known.
The unknown man who rescued Christina is identified as James Marsden at the conclusion of Westworld Season 4 Episode 1 “The Auguries.”
The camera shows that James Marsden’s character is watching over Christina from below as she despondently wishes for a happy ending from her New York City balcony while a Ramin Djawadi arrangement of Lana Del Rey’s “Video Games” builds.
We’ll have to wait and see if Christina and this new figure follow Dolores and Teddy’s tragic pattern in its entirety or if there is a chance that these new manifestations of these host bodies will have a joyful ending.
What Song Was Played at the Closing of Westworld’s Season 4 Premiere? “Video Games” by Lana Del Rey
Right. Yes. A orchestral rendition of Lana Del Rey’s “Video Games” closes out Westworld Season 4.
The song’s overtly amorous rhythm and lyrics, together with its humorous reference to Christina’s profession in the title, make it somewhat appropriate for this situation. It actually prevailed.
