“Dirty af!” – Eagles’ Darius Slay rips Mac Jones after Patriots QB’s highly controversial compilation of tackles comes to light
During the New England Patriots 18-22 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals, quarterback Mac Jones was seen tackling a Bengals player inexplicably. Many people believe Jones’s play was unethical and that he should have been punished.
Following the release of the video of the tackle, a series of videos depicting Jones as a nasty player since his arrival in the league went viral. Darius Slay, the star cornerback for the Philadelphia Eagles, also chimed in on the topic.
Darius Slay also believes that the New England Patriots quarterback is a dirty play. Quarterbacks usually get neglected for such habits and the defensive players around the league are certainly not happy with that.
“Dirty af!!”
Despite Jones’s tackle, the Patriots were unable to win the game as they fumbled the ball late in the fourth quarter on a possible game-winning drive.
The Patriots quarterback was teased last week for failing to make a tackle on Las Vegas Raiders player Chandler Jones, resulting in a loss for the New England Patriots.
Mac Jones is facing the heat
After losing two winnable games in two successive weeks, the New England Patriots are dead in the water and will possibly miss the playoffs this season.
Mac Jones hasn’t been able to translate his game from a stellar rookie season to his sophomore year in the league. A large part of it has been due to the personnel in the Patriots coaching tree, but the former Alabama quarterback has also looked out of sorts this season.
Jones has thrown for 2,550 yards, nine touchdowns, and eight interceptions in 12 games this season. He has a passer rating of 84.6. Backup quarterback Bailey Zappe replaced Jones for a few games in which he played well. Many believed that Zappe should be given the nod ahead of Jones, but he soon got his job back.
Next up for the Patriots will be the Miami Dolphins and it is going to be a huge game for both teams. The Dolphins are on a four-game losing streak and will look to bounce back.
Whichever team loses that game, their playoff ambitions will take a huge hit. Both Tua Tagovailoa and Mac Jones played for Alabama and it will be interesting to see who among them will come out on top in Week 17.
