Koady Chaisson Death Cause
The East Pointers were founded in 2014 by Chaisson, vocalist and fiddler Tim Chaisson, and guitarist and keyboardist Jake Charron, who played banjo and tenor guitar in the band.
The trio released their first album, Secret Victory, in 2015, and went on to win the Canadian Folk Music Award for Ensemble of the Year in 2016.
At the 2017 Juno Awards, Secret Victory would win the East Pointers the prize for Traditional Roots Album of the Year. In the same year, Gordie Sampson produced the trio’s sophomore album, What We Leave Behind.
“Two Weeks,” a song by What We Leave Behind, was named East Pointers Song of the Year at the 2019 East Coast Music Awards, where the band was also nominated for Fans’ Choice Entertainer of the Year.
The group won Songwriter of the Year at the 2020 East Coast Music Awards, and their third album, Yours to Break, which was also produced by Sampson, won Contemporary Roots Recording of the Year.
At the 2021 Canadian Folk Music Honors, the East Pointers were nominated for Contemporary Album of the Year and Oliver Schroer Pushing the Boundaries awards, while the album’s hit “Wintergreen” was also nominated for Single of the Year.
The East Pointers stayed true to their P.E.I. heritage by participating in the COVID-19 pandemic’s live streaming read-throughs of the Maritime classic Anne of Green Gables, which they nicknamed #Annedemic.
The trio performed in a live reading of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol in Charlottetown this past holiday season.
Due to new COVID-19 public health limitations, a second evening performance scheduled for December 17 was cancelled.
The East Pointers were scheduled to perform in the United Kingdom in February before heading to the United States in May.
Koady’s Career
The East Pointers’ Koady Chaisson is a musician. He plays banjo and tenor guitar and is a musician. Along with Tim Chaisson and Jake Charron, he is the third member of the East Pointers.
The band was created in 2014 by Koady Chaisson on banjo, Tim Chaisson on fiddle, and Jake Charron on guitar.
Secret Victory, their 2017 album, earned the Juno Award for traditional roots album of the year.
In addition, they were nominated for instrumental group of the year at the 12th Canadian Folk Music Awards.

The Australian-born musician was married to Chloe Goodyera. During Koady’s 2007 tour in Australia, he met his wife, Chloe Goodyera, through folk music.
She enjoys folk music as much as her Australian spouse. When she went to a concert, she got to know him through music.
