Anupam Kher reveals that close friend Robert De Niro often checks on wife Kirron’s health status
The pandemic has been very hard on us. We have lost so many talented celebs and some are battling health issues. Anupam Kher’s wife, Kirron is fighting blood cancer. The veteran actor quit his TV show, New Amsterdam to be with his wife after the diagnosis came out. He had now told a leading daily that his close friend and actor Robert De Niro often enquires about his health status. He also said that Kirron Kher has been resilient in her fight with the disease. It seems the actress is getting better. Anupam Kher told Bombay Times, “Kirron’s health is improving. It’s a tough treatment. She often says that the lockdown and COVID-19 situation have made things difficult. Patients going through this treatment need something to distract themselves.”
He said that some days are good, which she feels the side effects of the treatment more strongly on the others. He told the paper, “She can’t go out or meet people, but the good part is that Kirron is on her way to better health. She is holding up fine. There are days when she is positive and then there are days when the chemotherapy impacts her state in many ways. We are all trying our best and she is doing it, too.”
He also said that his close friend Robert De Niro often checks on how Kirron and he are doing ever since he learnt that she was diagnosed with blood cancer. Anupam Kher and he had worked together in the movie, Silver Linings Playbook. The actor had Robert De Niro messaged to ask about Kirron Kher and how she was doing. He said, “He had also sent me a video to wish me on my birthday, and he keeps checking on Kirron’s health every few days. I had texted him after seeing his ad with Roger Federer, and in response, all he wanted to know was my family’s well-being and how Kirron was doing.”
