A sculpture of a roasted pig, a new public artwork installation paying tribute to the Italian capital, was removed on Friday after the statue was vandalized with cherry-red paint.

New York Times reporter: Here I am, in Trastevere, and I am watching the porchetta statue lifted and taken away, The person who is photographing in the gray shirt is the artist because overnight somebody dripped cherry-red paint on it. And they have decided to take the sculpture away.
