Ebenezer Cobb Morley Early life

He was born on the year 16 August 1831. Cobb was an English sportsman and known as one of the Football Association fathers and modern football. Morley’s birth at the place of 10 Garden Square, Princess Street in Hull. His parent’s father was named Reverend Ebenezer Morley. He was a Nonconformist minister. His mother named was Hannah née Cobb. Ebe lived in the city until the age of 22.

Morley was qualified as a lawyer in the year 1854 in Public School. In 1858, cobb moved to the London suburb of Barnes to get practice as a solicitor in the capital.

Morley himself drafted documents on thirteen original laws of the Football Association at his home in Barnes.

Ebenezer was elected the first Honorary Secretary of the Football Association in the year1863. He held a post held until the year 1866, before becoming the second president of the Football Association from the years1867 to1874.

He got his first aim in the representative match London v Sheffield on the year 31 March 1866. In 1872, Morley became the first man to present the Football Association Cup along with his footballing career; Ebenezer was the first founder and secretary of Barnes and Mortlake Regatta.

Morley was a rower in London Rowing Club’s eight for the Grand Challenge Cup in Henley. Cobb is more huntsman and had his pack of 12 beagles that he built a gym for the footballers and rowers in Barnes.

From the years 1903 to 1919, Ebenezer represented Barnes on Surrey County Council. He was there a Justice of the Peace and Conservator of Barnes Common.

Morley is known to be The Old Sportsman of Barnes. He was a remarkable man in every walks of his life. It appears to have lived life to the full for the whole of his 93 years.
